Dates Of Procedural Steps In A Standard ICC Arbitration
A number of clients have asked the average duration of a standard ICC arbitration, when hearings will be held with respect to their case, and the number of pleadings that will be due and the likely timing of a final award. Since this is a standard question, we decided to help them out, and William Kirtley has put together a new tool that automatically estimates the timing of major procedural steps in a standard ICC arbitration, the dates and number of submissions, as well as the likely timing of the final hearing and award, based on the date of filing a Request for Arbitration and other variables. While the tool merely provides an estimate, and although actual dates will necessarily vary due to the procedural flexibility of ICC arbitration, it should be useful as a starting point to understand the likely timing of a typical ICC arbitration.
The tool can be accessed here.
